showing gratitude from november | 2019

It's the time of the month where I write about all the good that happened in November! November was an exciting month. I feel like time went so quickly, and I can't believe that we're here in December!

Let's get right into it!

halloween party

The second of November, I spent it by throwing a Halloween Party! It was the Saturday after Halloween, so it wasn't like it was that far from Halloween, but it definitely felt weird celebrating in November.

Me & my sister decorated the whole house, set out lots of small bites and snacks, and I have to say that I think the party was a success! It's nice having an event where you're surrounded by the people you care about most.

For my mom's birthday, my dad bought her three tickets to go and see Michelle Obama! I love her and her family, so I was so excited to go and see this with my mom and my sister.

I felt like the time went so quickly! I can listen to her talk and story tell forever! I'm kind of embarrassed to say this, but I haven't had the chance to read her book yet, but I bought the book immediately after listening to her speak.

Now, while I have my hands on her book, I haven't set the time aside yet to read it. But probably over this winter, I'll finish it.

brunch for patty's birthday

One of my close friends invited me to her birthday brunch! She chose this Dominican spot that has all the yummies! I had a great time, with the ambiance, the food, the drinks. I hope the birthday girl had an amazing time, cause I definitely did!

For my sister's 22nd birthday, she wanted to go away somewhere. Last year we spent the weekend in Philly, and this year we went to Salem! We're both super into witchy things, so this was a super fun trip for both of us. We ended up going with her boyfriend and my younger brother!

The food there was phenomenal! I tried oysters for the first time, and they weren't that bad. While they weren't that special to me, I definitely would have them again.

Another thing I loved was the fact that they had a coffee shop & bar at almost every corner. The few coffee shops we did enter, the coffees were delicious! I would definitely go back again, because I had such a good time.

new york

I always go to New York, but I have to say that it's been a while since I've last gone. Me & one of my best friends, Jill, decided to take a spontaneous trip to NYC. We had some mexican food, and margaritas, then we were originally planning on going bar hopping, but instead decided to stop at a rooftop bar! They had space heaters, and warm robes. We got some boozy hot chocolate and enjoyed the views of the Empire State Building!

From there, when we were planning on leaving, we found that the club inside had started, and stayed the whole night dancing. We had such a good time, we decided to go back to New York the following week!

friendsgiving

I had never gone to a friendsgiving before, so I was so excited when my friend Patty invited me to hers! I had such a great time. The food was delicious, the company was just as good, and just overall a good time.

For whatever reason, when I first got there, I was filled with anxiety. To the point that when I was parking my car, my eyes filled with tears. I was confused, because this was a group of people I felt especially comfortable with. I did a few breathing exercises, relaxed, and put on a brave face as I got out of my car.

While my anxiety came and left throughout the night, for no real reason, I still had a great time.

thanksgiving

I have to start by saying that this was one of the best Thanksgivings I've ever had. We all went to my aunt's house. All my favorite family (within close distance to our house) were here.

I drank lots of wine, laughed a lot, had great conversations, and took lots of pictures (which I'm not in, cause I was the photographer!)

The food was beyond delicious. I just feel like the room was filled with positive vibes, and it was just really nice. My grandma took a spontaneous flight from Dominican Republic, and was able to spend Thanksgiving with us, which was really nice.

After our Thanksgiving meal, me and my siblings do what we always do around 8:30-9:00, go to Target! We usually aren't looking for anything specifically, we just leisurely stroll around and see if we find anything that piques our interest. This year, I found a Crash Bandicoot came, for $10! It made me feel so nostalgic, and I felt like I had to get it, so I got that.

My brother was eyeing getting a Playstation 4 bundle that they were offering, but it was sold out. He looked all over the internet and found that it was at a Gamestop that was 20 minutes away. So this year, we also ended up at Gamestop where he was able to get his hands on the Playstation 4 bundle!

30th anniversary work party

This year was also a big year for our family business. We hit 30 years of business! It was a huge achievement, so we threw a huge party with our top clients and our employees. Speeches were made, awards were given out, and it was a beautiful night.

I am so proud of all the hard work my father, my aunt, and my grandfather put in to create this amazing business. We have grown so much since when they first started working, and the business just continues to grow! I can't wait to see this business grow even bigger.

So this was my month! It was actually far busier than I realized. I am honestly so lucky to have had such an amazing month. How was your November? Let me know in the comments down below! Sending you love, strength, and positivity.

I wish I lived close enough to New York to go often, but November is such a lovely time to visit it because it's so Christmassy but not unbearably cold like later on in winter

Sometimes I take for granted how close I am to NYC, and I should go more often than I already do, even though I have to say that I've done pretty well and have gone twice this month! It's been raining a lot this month which has kind of sucked, but we have made the best of it! Thanks so much for reading and commenting : )xx
