Fridaze 071
Happy Friday, happy Fridaze and happy June! While I personally think I did a pretty good job posting in the month of May, I did fall off towards the end. We've had a busy few weeks at work, and I haven't had the time. I also have been staying really consistent with working out throughout the month (yay for me!). Let's chat about what I've been up to.
NYC with Christina
I must've mentioned this at least 100 times on here already, but me & my friends are all turning 30 this year. So I've been trying to get pretty creative on ways we could celebrate! For Christina, I picked her up and we took the train to NYC. From there we went to two unique bookstores and went to eat at this hole in the wall restaurant. If it wasn't for the rain, the day would have been 100% perfect.
I did deviate a bit from my buying ban (I bought some books, but I honestly expected to spend money today!) I did well for the rest of the month, so I'm not too mad. The first bookstore we went to was Bibliotheque, which was a bookstore that gave Ivy league library vibes. It had a rolling library, mood lighting, and comfy couches and other seating. They were attached to a cafe that sold wine! The wine was super overpriced, but the place itself was really unique for me. If it was closer to me, I would spend a lot of time there. I bought one book here (a copy of a book I already love, The Roughest Draft by Emily Wibberly & Austin Siegemund-Broka)
The second place that we went to was The Ripped Bodice. It's a famous bookstore that sells only romance books! This bookstore was much bigger than the other one, and it was interesting to be completely surrounded by so many micro-genres of romance. This was the place I went a little more crazy with the book buying! I was talking to a girl there and she convinced me to get some books (I got The Serpent & the Wings of Night by Carissa Broadbent, Flawless by Elsie Silver, & You With a View by Jessica Joyce).
J Travels
J hasn't traveled since March, so I got used to having him home. It was hard to have him away for a week! By the time Thursday came around I could not wait to have him home. I'm pretty sure he has one trip next month, so not too bad.
Memorial Day Weekend
Last weekend was Memorial Day Weekend in The States, and it was filled with barbeques. I went to one on Saturday for one of J's friend's. And the my parents had one on Monday. It was a perfectly chill long weekend!

Enjoy your weekend in DC and happy early birthday!! How fun to explore the city with your loved ones. I’m planning a relaxing weekend myself! xx

Thank you so much! I ended up having a very busy, but fun time:) xx
It sounds like you've had a great time! The NYC trip sounds fab, and the bookstores sound incredible. I don't think I've ever heard of a store selling wine haha! I don't blame you for going crazy in the second one, I bet they had so many amazing titles. So glad to hear that you had a good Memorial Day weekend, and I am so jealous of the bbqs haha! I'm still waiting for some good weather. Happy early birthday and I hope you have a great time in DC xx
Thank you so much! Are bbqs common in the UK? Over here, we have lots of bbqs from memorial day all the day until labor day (in early september)! At least where I live, where we only get warm weather during the late spring/summer (and even early fall if we're lucky!)
Happy early birthday! I hope you have a wonderful time spending it with your loved one!
I've been cutting my hair for almost a year now and it's such a game-changer! I give myself a quick cut at the beginning of the month, it makes my curls feel light and bouncy! ♥

Thank you, I ended up having a really great weekend. I'll definitely update you guys on my next Fridaze 🙂
I love cutting my hair, if it comes out bad I can't blame anyone but myself, and I've gotten pretty good at it over the years! Like you said, it's easier to do lil trims to keep your curls healthy!
Sounds like a great Birthday celebration in NYC. Wow you have quite the reading list here. I just signed up for HBO Max via Amazon Prime. I stated watching And Just Like That, I didn't hate it as much as I thought I would, though it is a shadow of its former self.
CrunchyRoll? Have not heard of this.

I've heard a lot of good things about Just Like That. No one has said it's better than the original series, but for a spin-off it's one of the better ones around. I think it was going to be difficult to get the original vibes if the whole main cast didn't sign on for the show. Crunchyroll is a streaming service for watching Anime! They have the largest variety of anime verses other streaming services.
