Fridaze 075

Happy Friday and happy Fridaze! Here we are, the first Friday of August. We've had a scorching summer, but it's all been flying by! This past week wasn't the most eventful, but let's chat about it.

Dungeons and Dragons

For the first time in a about a year, I started playing D&D again, and it feels so good. This time around, we're paying a DM. Our first session of the campaign was last week, and I had such a good time. While D&D is not for everyone, since it can be a bit slow paced, I'm obsessed. I'm playing a Wood Elf Ranger (and based her personality on Celaena Sardothien, IYKYK).

We have our next session at the end of this month, and then expect to play more frequently once the summer is over! If you've never played before, I highly recommend finding a group and playing. It's so much fun.

Liana's 30th

Then on Saturday, it was my friend, Liana's 30th birthday celebration! We went to this restaurant called Taverna Verdana. It was a delicious Greek restaurant, right along the water. While we didn't sit outside, we were still able to get a nice look of the NYC skyline. I had such a nice time hanging out with my friends, celebrating our friend! Highly recommend checking out this place, especially for the drinks, service and vibes (plus their Tzatziki was so good).

Beach Days

Sunday morning, I went with Amanda to the beach. It was honestly the perfect day. We only went for a couple of hours, but it was so nice to be able to soak up the sun and have some girl chats with my friend. I definitely want to go to the beach more often before the summer ends. Especially when it's not a whole day thing!

Grandma came to visit!

My grandma is visiting from the DR this month, and she came to visit my apartment over the week with my mom. It's nice to spend some time with them in my space. She'll be here til the end of the month, so I'm going to make sure to spend as much time with her as I can. When she's not in the country, I try to do long weekly phone calls, so it's nice to have these chats in person!

lil things:

  • Meghan is posting again, and I've been loving her desk series!
  • Finding so many new YouTubers that I've been loving (while I recorded my first YouTube video for the first time in years. Let's see if I post it after editing it. You can Subscribe here!).
  • Getting accepted into the Amazon Vine program, and having a little bit of fun with that!
  • My hunger is finally plateauing, and I'm starting to feel much stronger! (for those of you who don't know, I started my strength training journey about 2 weeks ago)

  • One Piece - Impel Down arc [Hulu]
  • Demon Slayer [Crunchyroll]

I’ve heard a lot of great things about Demon Slayer’s latest season finale. I finished reading the manga, which made me a bit lazy to watch the anime, but I’ll definitely add it to my to-do list. Your week sounds like it was a mix of fun and meaningful moments! Btw, hello! April here. ✨

I still haven't had the chance to watch the last episode or two of Demon Slayer! I'm definitely excited to finish it. Since you know how it ends, I completely understand, why you're not in a rush to watch how it ends! My sister is the same way with One Piece.
Thanks so much for reading and commenting 🙂 Welcome to my space xx

You sound busy! I never played D&D, but when I lived in Seattle the three guys that lived next door to me played it with their friends every Sunday. I would hear them it was a bit entertaining. I am reading Turtles All The Way Down, I got it second hand for $1.99 and bought it because I liked the cover design but I am actually really liking it thus far.

That's pretty cool to witness and hear these people playing every week. If I were you, I would be extra intrigued!
What a great steal on that book. I tend to really like John Green books, but I never read that one! I would love to hear what you think after you finish it 🙂 xx
