Fridaze 076

Happy Friday and Happy Fridaze! How have you all been? We've been caught up in a storm and have gotten lots of rain this past week. While I personally am not the biggest fan of rain, I will say that I've been enjoying the cooler weather! While I don't have that much to share from the past week, let's chat for a bit.

NYC with Christina

Last weekend start with me and my best friend going to the city! For my birthday, she got us a reservation to make lip products at the Bite Beauty Lab. While there, we made a lip balm, a lip stick, and a lip gloss. I had so much fun making different shades I've always wanted to have in my collection. The girl who helped us with the whole experience was really cool, and definitely made the experience even better.

I'm not entirely sure what major cities have this experience, but if you like makeup and have one of these near you, I highly recommend! The cool thing is that you can reorder your specific shade online whenever it runs out.

Afterwards we wandered in a bookstore and ate at Eataly. In all the years of me going to the city, I have never gone to Eataly. We got a pizza to split, a cocktail, and a few appetizers. Everything tasted delicious, so if you're in the Soho area, I definitely recommend!

I had such a good time, and feel so grateful that she got me such a thoughtful gift! The day was filled with fun, good food and even better conversation.

Lunch with Lila

Then on Sunday, I met up with an old friend of mine for lunch! We went to a Greek restaurant, and then had some ice cream afterwards. She’s one of those friends that I can talk to for hours. I had such a great catching up with her, and I hope we don’t go as long without hanging out next time!

Book Club

While we skipped book club in July to allow us to just enjoy the summer without the stress of reading a book. We finally met back up in August!

Our book of the month was Middle of the Night by Riley Sager. It was so nice to catch up and chat with the girls! The book we’re planning on reading next month is Incidents Around the House by Josh Malerman. If anyone is interested in joining us, you’re more than welcome to! We meet through zoom the first week of every month (usually Monday- Wednesday) at 7:30pm EST. The more the merrier!

Finally starting to see a difference

After working out for about 3 months. The first 2 months predominantly doing cardio (and pilates), and switched over to strength training for the past month or so.

At first it was really difficult, because I was constantly sore and hungry. Finally my hunger curved, and even though I’m still sore, it feels good now?

Finally I’ve been waking up and looking at my body, and have started to notice a slight difference in my physical appearance! It’s so encouraging, and I just want to keep it up. It feels like a mini reward for the hard work I’ve put in.

Back on Youtube!

I did make a whole post about it, but I finally am back on YouTube. After mentioning it at least a hundred times, I finally took the plunge and made my first YouTube video. Not only that, but I also have next week’s video scheduled! I definitely feel a little rusty, but also very excited to jump back into the world of video content.

There’s something that’s so fun, yet so different from video content. Honestly, the funnest part is relearning how to video edit. I feel like it allows you to get super creative!

I can’t wait to play around a bit with different types of videos.

Posts made in August:

lil things:

  • I found a new Youtuber that I've been obsessed with. Her name is Clara Piece, and she just gives normal everyday vibes. She does a lot of cleaning videos and lil chit chats of her week, and I've been obsessed. I have literally been going through so many of her videos this past week.
  • Relearning how to edit videos have been so fun! I'm currently using Adobe Premiere Pro. If you have any tips, I'm all ears!
  • I've been making homemade onigiri, and I've been obsessed. They are so tasty, easy and filling!

SHOWS/MOVIES I’VE WATCHED:

  • One Piece - Marineford arc [Hulu]
  • Demon Slayer [Crunchyroll]
  • My Hero Academia [Crunchyroll]

BOOKS I’VE BEEN READING (LET’S BE GOODREADS FRIENDS!) (LET’S BE STORYGRAPH FRIENDS!) :

  • Iris Zero 7 by Takana Hotaru
  • The Emperor (Darkverse #3) by RuNyx
  • Heartstopper #4 by Alice Oseman
  • Manacled Volume 1 by SenLinYu
  • Pageboy by Elliot Page
  • Kingdom of Ash by Sarah J. Maas
  • Finale by Stephanie Garber
  • Game Plan by Viola Herman
  • Out on a Limb by Hannah Bonam-Young
  • Dune by Frank Herbert
  • The Fiance Dilemma by Elena Armas

That was my week in a nutshell, and I’m so glad it’s Friday. After a long work week, I can’t wait to just relax a bit this weekend. How was your week? I hope you guys also have a great weekend! Chat soon xx

I saw a Bite Beauty Lab when I was in California last year. It sounds like a fun activity to do with the girls.

I can't wait to watch more of your YouTube videos. That reminds me, I haven't posted in a minute. I should focus on recording more videos as I have fallen behind on my video content.

I know what you mean about seeing results in your physical appearance from working out. This year, I've started noticing and feeling more changes that my body has made, it's encouraging and motivates me to keep pushing! ♥

I definitely recommend it for anyone who's a beauty lover! It's not the cheapest experience, but I had a lot of fun. I'm pretty proud of myself, because I've actually posted 3 videos this month! Let's see if I get to do one every week this month. Your videos are so fun and creative, I love them!

What a busy week you've had Melina!

The Bite Beauty Lab sounds amazing – I've saved that for if my girls and I ever manage to plan ourselves an NYC getaway. Congratulations on being consistent at the gym. It's the best feeling ever when you start seeing your body change, and lends itself to so many other positive lifestyle changes and habits. I love nothing more than chatting gym stuff 😉

I highly recommend it! I know they have some other locations in the US as well if you visit another major city! Omg, yes, I feel so much better overall. I know I'm not at my goal yet, but it feels good to see some physical change. If you have any tips, please let me know! xx
