Workout Journey Update | March 2019
Wow, I was looking back to the last time I wrote one of these...since 2017. It's been a little less than two years since the last workout update.
I'll be honest, I thought a lot about updating you guys more often, the problem was, that I wasn't really always that consistent.
I'd have months where I would work out 2-3 times a week, while i'd have other months where I would work out 1-2 a month (if that). So you see, there wasn't that much to update you on, other than the fact that I was failing at trying to be this healthy & fit person.
Being healthy does not come easy to me. While I'm not a big fan of sweets, which is literally the biggest blessing ever, I love fast food and salty snacks.
If there are chips in my house, I will eat them.
What I try to do is not buy them, so I don't have to worry about self-restraint. The issue with this is that I'll go to Target, and then see that they have chips on sale, and end up buying 3 bags.
how i'm doing now.
I have to say, I've been eating healthier. Eating less chips, eating more food from the house, and bringing lunch from home. These things combined have been things that are technically small feats, but that I've been proud of.
On top of that, 2019 has been the year of consistency for me. While I was sick all of January, up until the last week, I have consistently been exercising in some sort of way 2-3 times a week. This hasn't always been easy, but I've been extremely proud of myself.
It's been a little over 2 1/2 months of exercising consistently, and I'm finally starting to see small changes in my body. At first I was extremely frustrated by the fact that I wasn't seeing immediate results, but I know the reality is that there is no shortcuts.
I'm not starving myself or taking those "detox skinny teas", so I've been doing it the old fashioned way of trying to eat healthier and exercise regularly.
In terms of how fit I am. While I am not the skinniest I've ever been, I'm pretty sure that I'm the fittest I've ever been.
It sucks a little bit that the outside doesn't represent all the hard work and effort I've put into myself, but I'm proud that I feel great!
types of exercises i'm doing.
Now in terms of exercise, I did mention this a bit during my winter favorites post, but I've been doing Cardio on a stationary bike with the Peloton app, and then been doing some strength training for my core and arms. Peloton actually has strength training workout videos to work out both of those parts of the body (they also have leg, glutes, and other parts of the body as well).
Therefore, when I can't make it to the gym, I'll pull up one of these videos, get my yoga mat and weights, and do them at home!
If you're someone who gets anxiety from working out at the gym or you have some other reason to not want to go to a gym, and you feel like you don't like the selection of exercise videos on YouTube, I 100% recommend checking out the Peloton app. They have a 14 day free trial, so you can try it out without committing! (no, I am not sponsored, but yes, I do love it a lot.)
I honestly think that 2019 will be the year that I get that summer body I'm working towards.
Do any of you guys work out? How do you do so? What's been the updates in terms of types of exercise, how you've improved (or if you didn't let me know how you're planning to try to improve next time around), etc! Let me know in the comments down below. As always, I hope you have a wonderful day/night. Sending you love, strength, and positivity! Thank you for reading xx
Well done! Keeping away from those salty snacks can be hard so well done for trying! And well done for being in the best shape so far, I hope it continues for you and best of luck! 🙂
Being healthy is such an up and down battle, but as long as we constantly keep trying, then we're doing alright! Thank you so much for reading and commenting, and i wish you the best of luck as you continue your journey as well!
I think my favorite thing about exercise is how capable it makes me feel. Regardless of if I see results in the mirror I know that I couldn't do half the things I do today without getting winded a few years ago. There's something amazing about walking up a few flights of stairs and not being completely out of breath! Congrats on your progress, the big and the small 🙂
That's true too! I love knowing how much stronger I am, and the abilities I have now, that back in the day I didn't really expect to get to! Congrats to your progress as well! x
Ahhhh!! You go girl 😀 Congrats on maintaining a level of consistency lol cause boy is trynna stay fit with a busy schedule hard at times 🙁 I clicked htis because I recently started back working out properly probs since last year and needed to read some motivation to stay in the zone...lol I've only gone to the gym like twice this week though...great post as always, sending loads of love 😀 <3

I completely agree, working out when you have so much other stuff going on in your life is difficult and exhausting. I might have to start waking up early in order to add more workouts to my week!
I'm so happy to hear that you've been working out again! You can do this. Keep it up. The hardest part is actually going to the gym, once you're there it's never bad. I believe in you! Don't give up. It's all worth it in the end. Sending you lots of love xx
Sounds like you are doing well. I am on a journey to become more healthier and loose weight also. Thank you for sharing your experience. Xx
I wish you luck on your journey! Thank you for reading and commenting 🙂 xx
Good job on keeping up with the routine. Be sure your body thanks you every time you put in the effort. I'm also trying to keep my workouts and yoga sessions consistent 🙂
Cheers to a healthy 2019!!
