5 Video Games you should give a try!
Since I've been in quarantine, one of the things I've been doing a lot of is, play video games. As a long time gamer, I've given all types of games a try. There are a few that have got me obsessed, and as of now these are 5 video games I definitely think you should try out! Let's get right into it.
Animal Crossing New Horizons (Nintendo Switch/Switch Lite)
This game just game out on the 20th, and it's definitely one of my favorite Animal Crossings. I've been playing this franchise since the original game came out for the Nintendo Game Cube. I was obsessed with making my house bigger, decorating it and finding cute outfits. While the game was super chill, I loved all the things you could do to make your town better.
Since then I've played the one that came out for the Wii, the DS, and the 3DS. When they announced that they were going to release one for the Switch, I was pumped. I didn't know what they were going to add to the game. I had faith that it was going to be just as good as the one for the 3DS.
In this game you get to choose an island to live on and build it up from scratch. You get to invite people to live on your island, build their houses. There are other things you can do, such as build building bridges, shops, and other things. You still get everything you get from past games, but also get so much more!
One feature that they added in this game that I love, is the ability to customize furniture! You can change the colors of some of the furniture pieces to match your home! While you can't do this with every single item, I've found that you have been able to do it with a lot of the.
If you liked Animal Crossing in the past, I think you're going to like this one just as much. The only thing I've get annoyed with is your tools break if you use them too much. I guess it's more realistic! Definitely a huge fan of this game. Check Animal Crossing New Horizons out!
Stardew Valley (PC, Nintendo Switch, Playstation 4, Xbox One, IOS, Android)
This should come as no surprise to you. I'm obsessed with this game. This game was originally recommended to me by Always Cleia, and I'm so glad she did! I think I have over 100 hours on this game, according to steam. I would compare this game to Harvest Moon. It's a 16 bit game, where you own a farm.
You can grow crops, own farm animals, and create relationships with the villagers. They have added things that Harvest Moon didn't have. One of the main things is going into the caves and killing monsters to go deeper to explore. It also has objectives/tasks, such as things that villagers ask you to do & objectives to improve your farm.
Graphically, Stardew Valley is very simple. I would still consider it one of the best Farming Simulation Role Playing games out there. I think the game is super inexpensive for how long you can stay entertained. If you're into Farming Simulations, this is one to definitely check out!
Witcher 3 (Playstation 4, Nintendo Switch, PC, Xbox One
Out of all the video games mentioned on this post, this might have to be one of the best. This isn't a new game by any means, but it's one of the ones I'm currently playing. I'm completely obsessed with it. My sister got the game, and when she beat it, she told me that I had to give it a try.
I finally decided to take some time aside and give this game my full attention. I'm so glad I did. While this game is the third one in the series, I don't think that you have to play the other two to know what's happening. I didn't and I still love it.
This game follows a Witcher called Geralt. A Witcher is a specially chosen human that is trained and taught to deal with the magical creatures within their world. Once they finish their training they accept contracts from the citizens within the world, well only if the fee is good enough for you.
This game has everything, humor, action and romance. This is a role playing game, where your decisions do impact the game. I don't think I'm very far in the game, but the fact that my sister is playing this game a second time around, definitely says a lot. This game is amazing. Graphically the game is beautiful. The amount of things you can do and explore is crazy. You can just be walking in the woods and find a random abandoned house taken over by bandits.
I'm definitely taking the game slowly, and trying to do all the quests to savor the game. One of my favorites parts of the game is the card game within the game, Gwent. It involves you collecting cards to create an army. You can verse a handful of people in every city, and when you beat them, they give you a card! It's super fun, and such a great side quest you can do throughout the game.
They have this game for all of the current gaming consoles, so there's no reason you shouldn't try this game out! It's currently $11.99 USD on Steam right now!
Diablo 3 (Nintendo Switch, Playstation 3, Playstation 4, PC, Xbox 360, Xbox One, Mac)
This is another oldie, but goodie I've been playing. I feel like it's rare to have games where you can play split-screen anymore. Most games involve you to play multiplayer through multiple consoles/televisions. It's frustrating when me and my siblings live in the same house, and we can't find games to play together in the same room!
Diablo is a game that we've all been playing together recently. It's not a new game, they're actually in the works on creating Diablo 4.
This game isn't graphically intense or anything like that, but it's definitely a fun action-RPG. You get to choose what class you want to be at the start of the game. From there you go through the quests and unravel the story. It's a lot of fun, especially if you're playing with other people like I am! I'm about level 40-50 where I'm at, and I'm about half-way through. I definitely think it's a classic everyone should give a try! You can get diablo for all platforms here.
Wizard 101 (PC, Mac)
This final one might seem a bit silly, but I've honestly been playing this video game on and off for years. It's honestly been years. I have a younger brother, and this was super popular when he was younger. One day, he asked me to get a month's subscription with him so I could play with him. I ended up doing it, and we had such a fun time playing it!
While this game is definitely targeted towards younger kids, I've found lots of adults throughout the years while playing the game!
This game is a paid subscription game, meaning can't pay once and be done with it. It's exactly why we've gone through this game so slowly. We're constantly playing multiple games at a time. What we do is get a one month subscription together, so the family pricing is $6.49 per person a month. We play for a month and then take a break til the next time we feel the urge to play!
The game does auto renew your subscription, so you do have to remember to cancel it right after you purchase the month!
In this game you're a wizard going to school. You get to choose what kind of elemental wizard you want to be, and can customize your character. From there, you can follow the main mission and side missions! When I was first playing the game, the max level you could be was 70, I think? Now you can be over level 100!
They're constantly adding new worlds and dungeons for you to be able to do. It's a lot of fun, especially if you're playing with someone you know.
Since it is a kids game, there are a lot of filters in the chat, but it doesn't often bother me, because I mainly play with my brother. We both find it a lot of fun, and definitely recommend checking it out! You can looking into Wizard 101 here.
So these are the 5 video games that I'm going to be talking about today. They're all super different from one another, but if your into games, hopefully you'll find one you like! I might turn this into a series, because there are so many amazing games out there. What games have you been playing recently? Let me know in the commends down below!
I also made a post about apps I like to play on my phone a while back, if you want to check that out too!
As always, I hope you have a wonderful night/day. Sending you love, strength, and positivity. Don't forget to stay safe!
Yay to Stardew valley!! I still play it from time to time, I need to try the co-op option. It's the most relaxing game. If I'm having a bad day I'll play it for an hour and my stress levels go down so much.
I need to play the Witcher 3! I'm playing through the first one right now and it's so clunky, but I'm one of those people who needs to beat games in sequence. I loved the first season on Netflix.
My brother is planning on moving now that he's completed his teaching degree (they graduated him early due to coronavirus) so we're hoping to set up regular gaming sessions to stay in contact. Video games are the best!
The creator of Stardew Valley said at the beginning of the year that he was working on adding another update with lots of cool stuff! You can check his twitter page where he's constantly answering questions and talking about the game.
I honestly never played the first two, but didn't feel like the third one was lacking in plot? I'm sorry to hear that you're not enjoy the first one! Hopefully you can get through it quickly, so you can get to the third one!
I hope you and your brother are playing stardew valley together now that you guys have the time ! xx
Oh that's exciting! It will be fun to see what the new update will include.
I do like the story in the first one! The gameplay is just a little outdated, but it's not the end of the world. I really want to play the third now that Ive watched the TV show!
Yes we are! I hope you're doing well x
Great picks! I love Animal Crossing too, it's such a great game and I love how you can customise everything too. I would love to see a series on this xx

Thanks so much! I'm so sorry for the late response, I've been so terrible checking my comments lately! I'm completely obsessed with animal crossing! Send me your friend code, and we can play together if you want 🙂 x
These are some good picks! I want to start The Witcher but I'm waiting until I can give it my full attention too. My boyfriend is a huge fan of the series and swears the third one is the best and you're right; you don't need to have played the others. I'm currently obsessed with The Sims at the moment though! x
I LOVE the sims! I haven't played it so long, but I might go and play it today actually! Thanks for reading and reminding me about the sims xx
Thanks so much for the recommendations
Thanks so much for reading! I hope you give one of these games a try and let me know what you think about it 🙂 x
