showing gratitude | march 2020

I wasn't sure whether I wanted to write this post. With all that's going on in the world, I was going to skip this month. Then I thought, that it's moments like these where you have to be extra grateful. When you have to look at the world with a glass half full. Let's show some gratitude & get right into it!

London 2020

Privet Drive at Harry Potter Studios in London!

This trip couldn't have come at a more perfect time. When I left the USA to go to London, I couldn't have imagined the chaos I would come back to. While in London, everything was almost completely normal! In my recent dear diary post, I talked a little about the subtle things I noticed that there was a pandemic going around.

I hadn't gone on a trip in a long time, and London was absolutely perfect. I went with my sister, my friend, Jen, and I met up with one of my best friends Melissa! While, I didn't expect to see Melissa so soon, but it was honestly such a blessing. I missed her so much, and we had such a great time just chatting and catching up together.

While there I got to do all of the touristy things, with the exception of seeing Big Ben. The clock was under some repairs, so there was scaffolding throughout my entire trip!

I think one of my favorite parts of the trip had to be Harry Potter Studios! I knew that I was going to love it, but I loved it more than I ever imagined I would. There were so many behind the scene fun facts, I loved every second of it!

Overall, I loved London, it was such an amazing city. I loved that there were parts that felt extremely suburban, and yet was a quick subway (aka tube) ride away! If London were a sunnier place, I could even imagine myself living there. That goes to show you how much I loved it! I might do a whole post on my London trip in the future, so I won't get into too much detail, but know that my heart is filled with gratitude.

Literally the day after I came back, the USA was starting to close their borders. Talk about crazy perfect timing!

Animal Crossing New Horizons

This game couldn't have come out a better time. With all the quarantining going around, I've been trying to find an escape from reality in anyway I could. Animal Crossing is a perfect distraction. It came out two weeks ago, and I've spend a little bit (or a lot a bit) of time everyday playing the game, trying to make my house bigger and just enjoying all the cute things they've added to the game! I spoke about this twice already, once in my video game post, and once in my dear diary post. I won't bore you too much with repeating myself, but I'm obsessed. So eternally grateful that this game came out when it did.

Facetime

Being a natural introvert, it's taken me a while to feel stir crazy, but it's finally starting to catch up with me. This past weekend I facetimed with my best friend, Jill. I've always been so used to seeing her on an almost weekly basis, it's been weird. It's been almost a full month since I've last seen her! We facetimed for hours. Talking about nothing and everything at the same time. It was super nice "seeing" her.

I'm honestly so grateful to live in a time where it's much easier to communicate with loved ones.

I can imagine how much harder it would be, if I had no connection with my friends and family.

My friends & family are all safe and healthy

With the craziness going on in the word, I am so happy to be able to say those words. Everyone that I know is okay, and I will continue to pray for that to stay true. I have all the gratitude in the world to know that everyone is currently healthy.

How are you guys feeling? What were you grateful for in the month of March? I know that this has been a tough month for some of us. Tougher for some more than others, but I hope you can look on the bright side and see all the things you can be grateful for. Hope you're all doing well! Staying safe and healthy. As always, sending you love, strength & positivity. xxx

I love reading gratitude posts, especially in times as turbulent as right now. There's so much to appreciate and be thankful for in each day, whether it's a new video game or time spent learning to be indoors. I'm so happy we have access to the internet and cell service to stay in touch with loved ones. Stay safe! x
