Dear Diary 017 [Christmas, New Year, & The Bachelor]
Hey guys, I feel like it's been forever! I decided not to put pressure to put out posts during the holidays. While I did come up with one post, it was something I was working on for a lil while, and was a lot of fun to come up with! If you didn't read it, I talked about my favorite youtubers of 2020. They're not new by any means, but they were my favorites throughout the year!
Christmas
Christmas this year was slightly different than normal years. Normally we get together with a few different groups of family members. My uncle comes up from D.C. and it's really nice. This year, my household only ended up hanging out with my Aunt's (the same group of people I play Dungeons & Dragons with).
I didn't know what to expect for the holidays, but I would say that even though it was smaller than usual, my Christmas Eve & Christmas was extremely enjoyable. I think I mentioned this before, but it may be because I'm closer to my aunt's family this year.
We played board games, and watched Soul on Disney+ (If you haven't watched it yet, it was really really good, and I highly recommend you watch it).
My family completely spoiled me with gifts, and I felt extremely grateful for all the lovely things they got me.
Overall even though it was very different from past years, I really enjoyed myself.
New Years
While Christmas was slightly different from past years, New Years was completely different. I don't really have a tradition or anything for New Years. I've always done something different, but I've always been surrounded by some of my favorite people in the world.
This year I did absolutely nothing.
I worked a half-day, came home and showered. I had planned to dress up, so I can make the day feel a little bit more special. What ended up happening, is that I showered and all the motivation I had to dress up went away.
So I put on some PJs and watched the New Years Eve special on tv with my family. My sister, brother, and dad were all asleep before midnight. It definitely not how I envisioned my New Years to go, but to be honest, I am so glad it's 2021.
I've never been one for the whole "New Year, New Me". But, after the year we had, I am so excited to have a bit of a division between 2020 and 2021.
I did create a few New Years Resolution, which I'm not going to get into. I think I wrote a post a few years back explaining why I'm not really into sharing them with people. They're definitely a lot more realistic, especially since we don't really know how long it's going to take for us to get back to a "new normal".
Last year, I honestly did pretty terribly with most of my resolutions. I'm not too upset about it, because when I made those goals, I never would have expected the year to end up the way it did.
The Bachelor
You all know that I'm a huge fan of the Bachelor franchise. While they're not necessarily quality television, they definitely are entertaining and just stress-free. I feel like I always enjoy the seasons of Bachelor in Paradise, because there are so many past contestants that I like there, and the drama is usually pretty good. It's been a few seasons since I've really been into a season of the Bachelor/Bachelorette (Probably since Hannah B's Season).
I have to say that After yesterday's episode of the Bachelor, I think this is going to be a really good one. Not only is Matt extremely good looking, but he comes across as super genuine! Before watching this episode, I didn't know how I felt about bringing in a random person as a bachelor, verses a old contestant I already loved, but I'm so excited now!
Not only does he come across amazingly, but all the girls are gorgeous! I can already tell which ones I'm going to love to hate, and are going to cause drama throughout the season.
So, even though we're only one episode in, I'm super excited!
But tell me, how have you all been? Have you made New Years Resolutions this year? If you have, and want to share, let me know what they are! Also, how are you feeling being in 2021, are you happy, indifferent? Let me know.
As always, I hope you are all doing extremely well. Sending you love, strength, and positivity xx
We enjoyed spending Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with all of you. Looking forward in making more memories on this year. Love you Melina!!
Love you too 🙂 xx
I am so glad to hear that you were still able to have a good Christmas. Board games and Disney sound like so much fun. I still need to watch Soul, it sounds amazing. Good luck with your resolution, and I hope you have an amazing 2021 xx

Have you watched Soul yet?! It's so so good! I hope you love it as much as I do. I also hope you have an amazing new year 🙂 x
board games and Disney sounds like the perfect, cosy Christmas. I used to write resolutions, but I've never completed them. This year I've just chosen a single word "calmness" for 2021 to be my inspiration for the whole year.
I've seen a lot of people choose words to try to achieve throughout the year, and I think it's a good idea! I am going to do a vision board later this month, and I am trying to come up with a word myself! I know we're a month into the year, but I still haven't figured it out. Thanks for reading and commenting! xx
