A Packing List For Any Destination: 5 Essentials

[guest post] If you want to travel more, all you need to do is search for a destination and book flights. Okay, that makes it sound a little too easy, but if you’re passionate about seeing more of the world, or even more of the country you were born in, you can travel more than you think. Once you book that flight, it’s time to think about packing, which can be stressful but it doesn’t need to be as long as you consider this packing list for any (yes, any) destination.

Clothes (Obviously)

Yes, you need clothes. But what type of clothes? All of them. It doesn’t matter if you’re packing for the cold or warmest destination, it always helps to bring clothes suitable for all climates. This includes thermal socks that can be useful on the plane or keeping your feet warm while camping. Waterproof jackets are also ideal in case you go on a hike and get caught in a storm. Of course, swimsuits, shorts, running shoes, and breathable clothing is always beneficial regardless of where you go, because you’ll want to stay comfortable.

Tech

There are plenty of travel gadgets that can make your trip more enjoyable. You will need your phone to take pictures but also to keep in touch with friends and family both on the trip and back home. A laptop can be useful if you have the space as it makes booking flights easier and means you can watch something on those nights when you don’t feel like going out. Power banks are also excellent additions to any packing list so you can keep your devices charged even in the middle of nowhere.

First Aid Kit

While you hope nothing happens during your travels (and you have travel insurance just in case), it’s still worth packing a travel first aid kit just in case. This should contain all the basics, including antiseptic wipes, band-aids, and iodine to clean and protect wounds to prevent infections. Paracetamol, ibuprofen, and malaria tablets are also essential as they can help you overcome other health issues during your trip.

Cash

Some places don’t accept foreign bank cards or even do not have the means to withdraw physical cash. Because of this, it’s always best to take enough money with you before you depart. Not only will this give you a buffer when you arrive, but you can also save money on extortionate exchange rates at the airport, allowing you to book taxis and other activities without touching your bank account.

Carry On Items

There is a range of carry-on must-haves that are worth researching to make the flight itself more comfortable. These include headphones, earplugs, an eye mask, and even sleeping pills (or melatonin) if for a long flight. All of these can enhance comfort and means that longer journeys fly by.

Bon Voyage

No matter where you go, this packing list should cover all bases. It includes everything you need on the plane, at the hotel, and wherever you plan to go, regardless of the weather and temperature. With an efficient packing job, you can enjoy every moment of your next trip and look forward to the next one.
