fall favorites | 2019
Happy New Year! Can you believe that we're in 2020 right now? I usually say something along the lines of "this past month has gone by so quickly!" or "I feel like I just wrote one of these posts!", but today, I just can't believe that 2019 is over! This past year has flown by so quickly, and I'm so happy to be starting this year off wayy better than last year. Now today I'm going to go over my fall favorites!
Instead of writing a super late favorites post, I tried to be as on-time as possible! So here it is, what I was loving throughout the Fall!
- Apple Watch Series 5
I've been going back and forth for over a year now, deciding whether I wanted to purchase the Apple Watch or not. I didn't want to spend so much money on something that I didn't think I was actually going to use. After speaking to a lot of my friends and doing some research, I took the plunge on Black Friday.
They had the Apple Watch Series 5 at a discount, and I decided that it was a sign that I should get it! I've currently had the catch for a month and a half now, and I'm in love! I didn't think I was going to like it as much as I do. Not only does it help me keep track of my fitness goals, but it also allows me to look at my phone less! While it is another screen, it doesn't have that "sucks you in" feeling that my Iphone has. This has definitely been a huge favorites of mine this season.
My siblings have all been on and off playing this game for years. My curiosity got the best of me and I downloaded the game. I absolutely love it.
It's basically a card game. You create a deck and verse people online! It kind of reminds me of Yu-Gi-Oh. You have "monster cards", "spell cards" and cards that have extra effects! The point of the game is to get your opponent's life to zero (I'm telling you, it's super similar to Yugioh). This game can get super frustrating, but it's also addicting and fun!
I talked about this in my summer favorites, so I won't say too much about it, I just wanted to mention it again to let you guys now that I'm still obsessed with this app! If you want to learn more about it, definitely read my last favorites post.
- YouTube
I go through phases where I don't watch a lot of Youtube, and then phases where I've been watching lots of it. Right now I'm at a phase where I'm watching a lot of it. In the Fall I was obsessed with Shane Dawson's new documentary series. I was also watching a lot of Claudia Sulewski, Tati Westbrook, Smokey Glow, Jess & Gabriel Conte, Amanda Rach Lee, & Johnathan Morrison!
I am subscribed to so many different types of content creators, and so if you have any favorites you want to recommend to me, please do!
- Spotify
I signed up for Spotify back in May, and for a while I wasn't sure if I was going to keep paying for my monthly service. I realized that I love spotify. It's similar to Apple Music, but cheaper, and available for both android and apple, which is perfect for someone like me who shares music with others!
- Temptation Island Season 2
In terms of fall trash reality television, we have Temptation Island! They got renewed for a second season, and lemme tell you, it's wayy trashier than the first season was.
For those of you that don't know, Temptation Island is a show where couples that are having issues in their relationship go on to an island where they are split up from each other for a month and live in houses with people of the opposite sex that are single! Now these singles are trying to find love or just cause drama with the split up couples.
While I don't understand why you would bring your significant other on a show like this, it is super juicy. Nonetheless, the show was super entertaining! The season finale ended the Thursday before Christmas, and all I have to say is that I hope they get renewed for a third season!
- Mind Hunter
Now this is a Netflix Original that currently only has two seasons. It's about how the American FBI came up with their psychological theories towards finding serial killers. It's super interesting, especially for those who already watch shows like criminal minds.
So if you haven't watched it yet and love crime and crime dramas, you would love this show!
- Dexter
I finally took the plunge and started watching Dexter. It's one of those shows that everyone tells me it ends terribly, and yet they tell me that it's still one of the best shows ever.
So I'm currently mid-season 3, and I have to say it's really just as good as everyone says it is. I'm getting more and more nervous as I get closer to the ending, only because everyone tells me how terrible it ends, but I'm honestly loving Dexter as a character.
For those of you that don't know, Dexter is about a guy who works on the forensics team for the police who's also a serial killer. He does have a moral code so only kills murderers. It's super interesting! It shows you his past and how he became who he is. For now, I would definitely recommend it (but i'll let you know how I feel about it once I finish it!)
- Before the 90 Days
The second reality show television show that I was watching during this Fall season was Before the 90 Days. It's actually a spin-off from 90 Day Fiance. It follows a few couples before they actually get engaged and get the K1 visa. I don't really keep up with this show, and I can't tell you how the other seasons are, but my dad was super into this season, and he sucked me in.
This season was so funny because of all the drama. I definitely recommend checking out this past season if you're looking for some new reality tv to watch or you just need a new background tv show!
- New Amsterdam
While I have spoken about this show a few times now, it has slowly become one of my favorites! I just feel like the writers of this show have put so much time into creating characters with so much depth. I honestly currently love every single character in the show. They're all so different from each other and I love that so much.
I'm already a big fan of medical shows to begin with, so I'm definitely a bit biased, but this first half of the second season was just as good as entire first, so I'm extremely pleased.
- Peter Thomas Roth FirmX Peeling Gel
I've spoken about this alottt, I've been using this product for over a year, and I still love it. It honestly just works so well, and without irritating my skin. I don't want to talk about this too much, because I know you're all sick of it by now, but it's honestly that good.
I do think I'm going to branch out after I finish this product to see if I find anything more magical than this, but this is definitely my favorite exfoliating product!
- Body Shop Vitamin E Serum
I thought I talked about this in one of my last posts, and yet I couldn't find it when looking for it? My sister gave me this product after it didn't work for her, and I'm so happy she did! This product has worked wonders for my dry skin. It's super hydrating.
It smells like baby in the most delicious way, and I have been using this product in the fall and now into the winter! This might not work so well if you have oily skin, but for my fellow dry skin folks, this is perfect for you!
- Peter Thomas Roth PRO Strength Retinoid Peptide Serum
This product was actually sent to my by Peter Thomas Roth for testing purposes. It didn't even have the official packaging that it has in the stores. I have been lucky enough to work with PTR a few times in the past, and so I already knew that I was going to love this product.
A few weeks ago I wrote a post talking about my skin clearing up, especially my redness, and I think that this alongside with the Halo Beauty have been the reason that my skin has looked so amazing! This product is supposed to be anti-aging, and so gets rid of any color discoloration and sun damage, so I think that's why it's been helping!
I will say that this product is super expensive, and while I love it and it's been lasting me a long time, I'm not completely sure if I would repurchase it. Nonetheless, I'm almost 100% sure that this with the Halo Beauty is the reason my skin is looking so good.
- Dr. Jart+ Water Fuse Hydro Gel
This is another oldie but goodie, I realize that while this product is amazing, it's not the best for the winter months, and I was using it from Spring until mid-Fall. It's so light on the skin, and hydrates pretty well!
I was checking on the Sephora Website, and I don't think they sell this product anymore, so I'm definitely going to hold off using it until the weather starts to warm up and my skin needs a little less moisture.
A lot of these are repeats, especially because I've been trying not to buy too much new makeup. I've been really working on using up what I already own. The ones I've mentioned in older posts, I'm just going to put the link to where I mentioned them, and not say anything (this post is already getting wayy too long).
- Colourpop Supershock highlighter (Shade: Wisp)
- Too Faced Hangover Primer
- Colourpop Precision Brow Pencil
- Tarte babassu foundcealer™ skincare foundation SPF 20 (Shade: light medium honey)
I finally finished my Too Faced Born this Way Foundation, and replaced it with this one. As someone with dry skin, I've been moving away from matte foundations. This one has a more natural finish and wears so beautifully on the skin. I feel like Tarte has my perfect shade. It's the closest to my actual skin tone, which I really like.
I think this might be a foundation, that even when I run out of it, I would stick with it. Tarte just knows how to do foundations that work with my skin! This has been one of my biggest favorites, and recommend it to someone who has dry skin, wants SPF, and wants your makeup to wear beautifully!
- Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (shade: Light medium Honey)
This is a repeat product that has been my ride or die. I haven't tried many concealers recently, mainly because this is my favorite! All of the other concealers that I've tried, this is for sure my favorite! The only concealer that I love as much as this one is the Makeup Revolution Conceal & Define. It has a very similar doe foot applicator, and while it's not as full coverage as the Tarte Shape tape, it's amazing! It literally looks so beautiful on and it's a fraction of the price of the Tarte Shape Tape. I definitely suggest giving them both a try!
- Physicians Formula Butter Bronzer
- Too Faced Peach My Cheeks Blush Melting Powder
-
MARC JACOBS BEAUTY O!Mega Bronzer Coconut Perfect Tan (Shade: Tantastic)
I have definitely talked about this product before, it has been one of my go-to bronzers. I bought this so long ago, and I use it so often, and I haven't hit pan yet! To be fair, the pan size of this is huge. I think this bronzer is so flattering. It's not too warm and not too cool, so it can be used for contouring and bronzing. Also, it smells like coconut, which is a scent that I love!
This is another one of those products that are pretty pricey, and while I love it and would personally re-purchase, I definitely suggest checking out the Butter Bronzer by Physician's Formula if you're looking for something more on a budget!
- Benefit Hoola Bronzer (Shade: Original)
This used to be one of my favorite bronzers. It might actually have been the first high street bronzers I ever bought (but don't quote me on that)? They recently had one on sale on Ulta, and so I purchased it, and I honestly forgot how much I loved it! It's such an amazing product, and it honestly deserves all the hype it got back in the day.
I usually switch between this one and the Marc Jacobs one and mix it with the butter bronzer which is a bit warmer!
- Colourpop So Jaded Palette
So I told myself that I wasn't going to buy more makeup. I honestly don't need it at all, and yet when this palette came out, I knew I wanted it. I got it a few months ago, and it's been one of the only palettes I've been using recently. There's this one super shock eyeshadow in the palette and it looks phenomenal on top of everything, even if it's just a plain lid! Kathleen Lights did an amazing job designing this palette.
- Violette Voss Essentials Palette
The other palette I got, I didn't actually buy. I got it from a Boxy Charm Box. I think this palette isn't really an essentials, at least not in the way you'd typically think about it. The palette has really unique colors like pink, orange, one dark brown, a green, and a purple (it has other shades, but I don't remember off the top of my head).
I don't know if this palette was a Boxycharm exclusive, but I love this palette, and have been using it a lot!
So I know this is a super long post, but these are all of my fall favorites for right now! What are you loving as of recently? Let me know down below!

a very delayed...summer favorites.
As always, I hope you have a great day/night. Sending you love, strength, and positivity.
I have watched all of Dexter, a very good series! I was deciding between a Fitbit and an Apple Watch and I went with a Fitbit. It’s great you managed to get one with a discount! I hope 2020 is a great year for you. It’s great that it is starting off for you already better than last year! Xx
I was deciding between the Apple Watch and the Fitbit too! I just like the customization options for the apple watch, and I know for a fact that for whatever reason some fitbits don't read accurately if you decide to get black tattoos around your wrist! Since I'm thinking of getting some more tattoos in the future, I decided to spend alittle (alright, a lottt more) on the apple watch. Thanks so much for reading and commenting 🙂 xx
Oh I didn’t know that about the tattoos etc xx
Happy New year! This year did fly by! It is crazy! I have debated getting an Apple Watch. I know so many people who love them, but I am not typically a watch person so I don't know how much use I would get out of it. I loved reading your review! Thank you! Hearthstone sounds like such a neat game! I love Dexter! It is such a great show! Great Fall Favorites beauty! <3
I definitely think that getting an apple watch might not work for you if you don't wear watches in the first place! I've always liked wearing watches to begin with. I'm almost on season 5 of dexter, and i'm obsessed, currently watching it while I answer back some comments! Thanks so much for reading and commenting 🙂 xx
