Fridaze 001

So I've been wanting to get back to writing on here more consistently, but have been having a little bit a trouble on where to start. I've been inspired by one of my favorite bloggers, Michelle from Daisybutter. She does these weekly updates called "Sundaze", and I wanted to do something similarly.

A place where I can talk about the highs and lows of my week. Share some of the photos I have taken, that were never intended to be shared anywhere.

I don't know if i'll be able to consistently update you weekly on how I'm doing (fluctuating mental health and all that). I technically do try to update you on my life when I do my monthly dear diary posts, but I think I can break down my weeks easier.

Even if my week is pretty uneventful, it could be fun to share with you my thoughts, and what's on my mind. I'm not entirely sure if I'm going to keep this going on Friday or switch them to another day of the week, so we'll see! For now, it's going to happen on a Friday.

Grandparents

My week started off with news that my grandpa went to visit his dad in the Dominican Republic for his birthday, which meant that me and my sister were going to have to stay overnight my grandparent's house to stay with my grandma. For those of you who don't know, my grandma has Alzheimer's, and has to be watched at all times. It's a little tricky at times, but she's in a good mood more often than not recently. She's had quite a few lucid lil moments which have been pleasant surprises.

I brought a puzzle (I know, an early pandemic hobby that I'm still doing) for me and my sister to entertain ourselves with later in the evening. Now that it's Friday, we aren't even close to finishing it. It's 1,500 pieces (I like the challenge), and we only got most of the edges, and random lil patches throughout. The real struggle was finding a way to transport the completed pieces back to my house. It's definitely not perfect, but most of the parts we have done are intact.

Tulip Farm

I also went to the Tulip Farm on Sunday! I tried to go last year, and while you were able to pick up some tulips, you weren't allowed to pick them yourself (cause of covid).

This year, I went with my sister and her boyfriend, and it was so beautiful! There were so many different color of tulips, and it was such a nice sunny day out, I just really enjoyed the day. We took home so many different color tulips! Not only that, but they had about 6-7 food trucks, and were able to enjoy some lobster rolls, which were beyond delicious.

Parents are away

Another eventful thing that happened this week is the fact that my parents left yesterday to Washington DC! They decided to take a long weekend to go and spend time in that city, and also spend time with my Uncle! It's been a super long 2 months, with my dog getting sick, and passing away, so they honestly deserve the time away. While they're away, I'm in charge at work, which means waking up early, and making sure nothing goes wrong while they're gone. While waking up early, is not something I look forward to, I know they deserve a break, and I'm happy I'm able to do that for them.

I'm fully vaccinated!

I think the final thing that I did that is worth noting is the fact that I got my second shot of the vaccine this week! I did end up getting some side effects (that I'm currently still feel slight effects of), but I'm super excited to say that in two weeks time I will be fully vaccinated! If you're able to get vaccinated, and haven't done so yet, what are you waiting for?! Not only will it protect you, but it will also protect all of those around you. I'm so happy to do my part in order to get us closer to normal sooner.

I didn't realize how busy and eventful my week was until I started typing it all out! Overall I had a pretty good week. I definitely am still struggling with the passing of Maya, aka my dog (and my forever best friend), but other than that the warm weather is doing wonders for my mental health!

I am so sorry to hear about your dog, sending lots of love. The tulip field sounds amazing and like such a nice day out in the fresh air. Especially with the food trucks too haha! Amazing news on being fully vaccinated! I'm still waiting to be offered my jabs, but I hope it's soon! Great post xx
