Fridaze 067
It's almost midnight, and yet here I am writing a super late night Fridaze. I have just finished reading Caraval by Stephanie Garber (which I highly recommend), and was in the mood to write...something. So here I am, in my oversized eras tour hoodie, writing this week's Fridaze p0st. This one is probably going to be a short one, but you can still grab a cup of tea or coffee anyways! So let's chat.
barnes & noble
I may have mentioned this before, but I have a lot of physical books that I haven't read yet. I've been doing pretty well reading through them recently, but, I still tend to buy books at a faster rate than I read them. So, I've stayed away from book stores.
Well, they opened a new Barnes & Noble location at my parent's hometown, and I wanted to see what the layout looked like! While this B&N is probably one of my least favorite locations compared to the old location, I still ended up with 3 books. I got Hell Bent by Leigh Bardugo, which was the second book in a series. I also got Vicious by V.E. Schwab, which I have heard only amazing things about. The final book I got was The Seven Year Slip by Ashley Poston, which is a magical rom-com. I love her whimsical writing, and have also heard really good things about this one.
I will say that over the past week, I have gotten through 2 more of my physical books, so I guess I basically broke even?
another hockey game
Last week, Me and J went to another Devil's hockey game! It's the last one we got tickets for this season, so we probably won't go to any more games until next fall. Unfortunately they lost, but it was a pretty exciting game, especially in the final period!
power outage
I honestly don't remember the last time I lost power? The power may flicker occasionally, but for it to shut off for an extended period of time? It's been many years. Well, this Tuesday we randomly lost our power for 3 hours. Luckily dinner was cooked, but we both had things we wanted to do on our computers before watching our show in bed.
My boyfriend was initially so annoyed, but honestly, it was kind of nice? I lit all the backup candles I owned. The lighting was so cute and warm.Luckily, my Ipad was charged, so I hot spotted internet from my phone, and we watched it in bed! It was a change up from regular routine, and I was happy that it only last 3 hours.
hints of nice weather
We have been finally getting the slight tease of nicer weather. After weeks of rain, random snow, and freezing mornings, I've been starting to wake up with the sun shining through my window. I've been leaving work, carrying my jacket to my car. I walked my dog and sat on the grass while he played with a stick he found on the ground and clear blue skies above us.
It's been so nice.
As someone who really struggles with SAD, it's been super re-energizing to be getting bits of sun throughout my day.
injured my wrist
I've been working out, and it's been nice! I've been working about 3-4 times a week. But this past Tuesday, I went to the grocery store, and I guess my bag was super heavy and I held the bag in an awkward way, because since that moment my wrist hurts depending on what I'm doing. It feels much better today, but I also haven't been doing any weights, because I'm afraid to injure it more.
It's a little frustrating to have a setback like this after getting into my groove. Hopefully I'll be back to normal by next week!
sofrito
I've been really trying to master some of my favorite hispanic meals. Normally, one of J's friend's sister gives us sofrito, but I cross check a whole bunch of recipes online, and made my own this week! For those of you that don't know, sofrito is basically a mixture of minced/food processed herbs, peppers, garlic, and onions! It's supposed to make it easier to cook. So I put it in this mason jar, but I'll probably switch it into ice cubes soon so it can last longer. I haven't used it in food yet, but this smells soo good. I'm so excited to use it in my food next week.

I hope you're wrists are starting to feel better. I create social media content for clients and I've noticed my wrists (since holding my phone so much) are starting to almost click and freeze up. I end up having to do wrist exercises every day.
What did you think of the latest Love is Blind? I thought it was a much better season than the previous one.
In the UK, it felt like the weather was getting warmer but we've gone back to rain and strong winds 🙁
xx
I have to wear a brace for about a month, but it's a lot less painful than it was now! And much more manageable.
I really loved the latest season, it gave me everything I felt the last season was lacking. And AD telling off Sarah Ann in that lake bbq, I loved every second of it. Already can't wait for the next season!
OMG same! We got about a week of beautiful sunny weather, and since then it's been cold, windy and raining as well. Hope you're doing well Laura! xx
I used to have weak wrists (because they're so thin) and used to injure them a lot but since I've started adding planks and side planks to my workout routine they've strengthened a lot. It took a while for this to happen but I'm glad my wrists are stronger now. ♥

I don't think I got the injury while working out. My dog weighs about 80lbs, and I think I was on my phone or something at a moment he pulled too hard! I'm not 100% sure, but it seems to be one of the most logical reasons!
