Gratitude in October | 2020
Hey, so I took a bit of a break. I honestly wasn’t expecting it. I was keeping a steady stream of productivity, even while struggling with extreme anxiety and other things going on in my life.
Then election week came, and I reached a peak of anxiety, that I honestly could not do anything. I’m telling you, I did absolutely nothing productive. I was just struck with so much crippling anxiety and stress, it was honestly all I could think about. It was a sleepless week for sure.
But now, I’m trying to come back from all of those intense feelings. It’s funny, cause even though I was beyond relieved and happy when Joe Biden was elected president, and my anxiety definitely decreased, I still wasn’t feeling 100%.
Instead of being hard on myself, I decided to be extremely forgiving and allow myself to ease back into my blogging/Youtube schedule. So, here I am! Not feeling completely myself at the moment, but missing talking to all of you. Let’s get into last month!
Bachelorette started!
One thing that started last month that I was looking forward to was the Bachlorette started! There's just something so comforting about watching a reality tv show. It honestly just takes you away from reality.
My best friend, Jamie, has been coming over almost every week, and it's been so nice having her over as we make fun of each of the episodes. Neither of us have been a big fan of Claire, and we're beyond happy that Tayshia is now the bachelorette.
To be fair, the producers did a horrible job of making Claire look good. I feel like they did her so dirty in editing. While she did give them a lot of sound bites to work with, they definitely could have made her come across as a lot more likable!
Nonetheless, I've been enjoying the season, and am looking forward to see how the rest of it goes with Tayshia!
Haunted House
While I didn't get to do that much to celebrate Halloween, I did one activity! I went to a haunted house with my quarantine crew! I was a little anxious, because I didn't know how safe the whole thing was going to be. I was more than a little relieved, when I saw that they took so many precautions to make sure everyone was safe, while also having fun!
While the haunted house wasn't as good as it was in past years (they didn't have as many actors, because of covid), but it was still nice to something that felt a little bit normal.
Dungeons and Dragons
As always, Dungeons and Dragons is a highlight to my month. We're getting close to finishing our first campaign, and we're already talking about what adventure we're going to do next, so I'm definitely looking forward to our next get together!
Best Friend’s Birthday
During the month of October, it was my best friend's, Jill, birthday. With covid happening, and me not feeling comfortable eating indoors, I decided to make a little dessert platter at my house! We drank some wine in our onesies, ate tons of desserts, and watched a whole bunch of shitty Christmas movies. She loves Hallmark/Lifetime movies, so that's exactly what we watched. 3 movies to be exact.
Halloween
While I normally celebrate Halloween multiple nights, with everything going on, it just wasn't realistic. This year I had a little get together at my house with my quarantine crew! It was a lot smaller that the parties I normally have, but I had a good time. I was poison Ivy for Halloween this year, which I had a lot of fun doing the makeup for!
October was pretty difficult for me in terms of where my anxiety was at, but it's nice to look back on the month and see the positives that happened. Now, tell me how your month was? As always, thank you for reading. I hope you have a wonderful day/night. Sending you love, strength, and positivity xx
I'm sorry October has been tough on you, but I'm really happy that you got some positive things to look back on no matter what <3 Sending you all the love and hope November has been treating you kindly so far <3
December luckily has treated me much better. I hope you're doing well. Sending you lots of love, specially with the weather cooling down significantly xx
I hope your anxiety gets better soon! I love a cheesy Hallmark Christmas movie. Yesterday I was feeling stressed so put one on and it made me feel better. Bloggers definitely have to forgive themselves for not sticking to schedules 24/7. The bigger picture is celebrating how many years you've stuck to blogging and growing your site. xx
It's true, they're not good in quality, but they really do tend to make us feel better. I hope you're doing well and this year has treated you well xx
I didn't know you played Dungeons and Dragons!!! What's your character like?
Some friends & I had a campaign going every Monday night online for the past six months, but it's coming to an end. Our DM was managing another group as well as working full time as a teacher and it was understandably getting to be too much. I'm sad it's ending! I hope you're having fun with it!
I do! I have a wood elf rogue! I'm still getting the hang of roleplaying, but I love the game so much. I'm one session away from finishing our first campaign. Hopefully you'll be able to start a new group or get a new DM, because it's so much fun!
Rogues are so fun! I love the sneaky characters. It sounds like we might start up again with a new DM in February, so I'm excited 😊
omg that's so exciting! What's your character like?
Well, my character for our last campaign was literally Elsa from Disney because I'm a nerd and wanted to be an ice sorceress haha. But this time I'm not sure, I think i'll be a thief!
That's cool, let me know what kind of character you decide to do 🙂 x
I am so glad to hear you weren't hard on yourself and let yourself rest. I hope you're feeling back to yourself soon, sending lots of love your way. Honestly I get so much FOMO about The Bachelorette, as I hear loads of people talking about it, but we don't get in the UK. It sounds like you still had a lovely Halloween even without being able to celebrate how you would before xx

Thank so much for reading! Yes I love the bachelorette! I would definitely recommend getting a VPN, and watching it online somewhere. It's super anxiety relieving, and while it's just silly reality tv, you can't help but laugh and root for certain contestants! Sending you love Han xx
