melina's book club pt. 7
I'm back again with another book post! I've been trying to be more consistent in posting these, and so far I've been able to do them at least once a month, so I'm quite proud of that.
I've been so so sick for the past week, and you guys would know that if you follow my instagram (@heyyitsmelina). I am happy to announce on here, that I am feeling much better! Thank god. I had a terrible cough that wouldn't go away! Then because of the coughing, I was getting chest pains (maybe I'll get abs this way?), headaches, and body aches. I've never had such a bad cough in my life, so I was surprised that it has literally lasted me a full week. Have any of you gotten a cough like that before?
So today I'm going to share with you some of the books I've read since the last time I wrote a book club post. So let's get into it! As always I'm going to give you the books right at the beginning, and if you like one of them, it'll take you right to that part of the post!

I'm giving another 5 stars. No, the world is not falling apart, but yes, I do love Jennifer Lynn Barnes as an author. She has a way with words that literally just sucks me in. If you haven't read my mini review for the Naturals, which the first book in the series, check it out here. For those of you who don't know, this series is a crime genre book that revolves around teenagers who have these natural abilities because of the hardships they lived through. It was their way of survival. Because of their natural abilities, the government becomes interested in them and brings them in to help them solve cases. This is the third book in the series, and it definitely does not disappoint! Just whenΒ you think the series cannot get better, it continues to surprise me and it's honestly just so amazing. This book in the series specifically follows Sloan's story a bit, and I loved getting a better look into her back story. Truly an amazing story, and I really recommend it. You can get yourself a copy of this US: here or UK: here!

This is the final book in the series, and it was as amazing as all the rest. I am super upset by the fact that the books are over. This book follows Michael's and Lia's story, and while I wished there was more of Lia's backstory in this, I was still pleased to get something. the book did an amazing job of tying up any loose ends and answering and questions you might have. If you like crime novels, this is an amazing Young Adult Fiction series! You can get yourself a copy of this US: here or UK: here!

This book was something on a much lighter note after finishing the Natural's series! So I never really do this, but I did some research on this book. I actually found out that this was supposed to be a movie in the early 2000's, but it didn't end up happening so they turned the screenplay into a book. Supposedly Hilary Duff was supposed to play the role of the main character?
The whole thing made a lot of sense, because I can truly see this book being a cheesy teen movie made around that time period. The story is about a rich girl, who's spoiled rotten, and after a run-in with the police, her divorced parents make the choice to send her to this wilderness rehab, to turn her attitude around.
Along the way she learns a lot about herself, makes some friends she would have never imagined, and even meets a boy along the way. It's a cute quick story, and while Lizzie can be annoying in that "stereotypical rich girl" way, I actually enjoyed the story! I thought it was cute and quick read, and if you want something like that, then this might be the book for you! You can pick up a copy of that book US: here or UK: here!
So these are the books I'm going to review today! If you havenβt kept up with the other books Iβve reviewed, you can check them out below:

Fantastic post! I'm so happy you liked Jennifer Lynn Barnes' books, I have Little White Lies by her on my TBR and it sounds fantastic, I can't wait to get to it. It seems like I need to add some other books by her to my endless TBR π
Happy reading, Melina xx
I think as of now that my be the only book by her that I haven't read yet, and want to read soon! I love her style of writing. She knows exactly how to drag people in! Thanks for reading and i hope you give these books by her a chance too π xxx
That's so, so good to know, I will have to get her books soon, hopefully π
Omg, let me know when you do! xx
I can really imagine Hillary Duff playing that character in the 2000s haha! It sounds like an easy reading kind of book which is great every now and then x

Agreed, while I love a page turning novel, I also like a quick and easy read every so often! I'm glad you agree. Thanks so much for reading and commenting love π xxx
The Naturals series sounds really interesting! I'll have to check out the books!
Also I can see how Outward Blondie was meant to be a cheesy teen movie!
They're super amazing, and totally recommend you read them! Outward blonde was a cute cheesy cliche, but enjoyable π Thanks for reading and commenting π xxx
I recently read The Rise and Fall of Becky Sharp. It's a modern retelling of Vanity Fair. It's as light hearted as Outward Blonde. It's kind of a silly, easy reading book, but I got really into it. xxx
I'm going to have a look at it and add it to my TBR list! Thanks for letting me know, and also let me know if you might give outward blonde a try and your thoughts on it π xxx
Heyyyy! I like this segment of your blog! I used to read a lot too but I kind of grew apart of that habit. Posts like this makes me want to rekindle my love for books. Iβm interested on Trish Cookβs book mainly because it really looks like something thatβll be shown as a teen movie. That cover says it! I love how you put on some fun facts about the book too!
It was a cute book! I mainly put the fun facts, because i felt like I enjoyed the book more once I knew it was meant to be a movie! You definitely should be get into reading! It's such a wonderful thing, and you'll fall right in love with it again! If you do end up reading this book, let me know π xx
