My Favorite Christmas Memory

When I was younger, I used to look forward to all the presents I was getting and the fact that I was home from school for a bit over a week. It was amazing. I still can look back and remember my favorite Christmas.

I was about six or seven years old. I wasn't living in the house that I live in now. I remember waking up extremely early, with my little sister, who was about three or four at the time. We tip-toed down the stairs, making sure not to wake up our parents. We looked in our living room where our Christmas tree was, and saw the huge pile of presents wrapped in a whole bunch of different Christmas paper. We scouted the Christmas tree, trying to find out how many presents had our names on them. After looking at the gifts, we ran back upstairs into our parent's room. We jumped on their bed, and begged them to get up so we could open presents.

After my mom had gotten her cup of coffee, we all sat on the couches around the tree and opened our gifts. Me and my sister had gotten the most amazing gifts. Polly Pockets and Barbie Dolls. We had even gotten the Barbie Secret Apartment. We were so excited. We started playing with our presents, while receiving multiple phone calls from distant relatives. I actually remember one phone call in particular with my Aunt Rosa from Florida. I remember talking to her, and asking her if she was getting snow like we were. I was so young that I didn't realize that it's too warm in Florida for them to get any snow in Miami.

After getting dressed, we went to our grandma's house to have some Christmas Eve leftovers. Usually our family, plus my aunt's family would meet up at my grandma's house. That year we were going to start our Christmas there and then go to my great-aunt's house. It was so amazing having so much family all together on one day. The best part was the fact that I got the thing I wanted most for Christmas. I got the Amazing Ally doll. It was an amazing day. Everything you could want for Christmas. Snow on the ground. Surrounded by the ones you love. Getting everything you wanted and more.
