showing gratitude | July 2020

Hey guys! I know I stopped doing these for a few months, but I'm back again, showing some gratitude for all the good in my life from the last month. I think it's especially important to be grateful during times where it's difficult to stay positive.

Let's get into all the good things that happened during the month of July!

family time

While things were starting to get a bit more in control in NJ in terms of COVID-19, there are still a lot of rules in place. Therefore, I hadn't really been socializing much. I gotta say, I was extremely excited when my cousins invited my family to their house. It was so nice to socialize and spend time with people.

I had a great time, and it gave me a bit of the refresh I needed. While I've always considered myself an ambivert, leaning toward introverted, I never realize how much I leave my house, even just to run errands. Or hang out with friends whenever and wherever I wanted. So this was a nice mini relief.

It also allowed me to feel a little bit more comfortable opening up my social circle a bit.

book club meeting

I think I've mentioned this in one of my recent posts, but I started a mini book club with my friends. The first month's book was Dear Edward, and the second book was Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine.

It's nice to have a set date in the month to chat books with other book lovers! If you guys are interested in reading August's book, we're reading The Nightingale.

liana's housewarming get together

I was able to socialize again in the month of July. My friend, Liana, was supposed to have a housewarming party in April, and because of the pandemic, it was canceled. Her birthday was in July, so she decided to do a mini get together, and combine the two celebrations.

It was so nice to see some of my friends again and socialize. I honestly had such a great time, and it made me extra grateful to have such amazing people in my life. While there was a lil' bit of drama that night, the night was great overall!

sleepover with Erika

Over the summer, me and erika have hung out about 2-3 times, and I was extra excited to spend the night over her apartment. Her girlfriend was away for the weekend, so it was super nice to just have the night for the two of us.

We always chat about anything and everything, and it was just really nice.

Someone surprising reached out

This one is kind of a weird one to explain. I don't really want to say too much about this at the moment, but someone I never expected to hear from again, reached out. It completely caught me off guard, but I'm more than happy that they reached out. Sorry, for being a little vague, but I'm not ready to go into more detail yet.

So July was actually a lot more eventful than I expected, but I'm definitely not mad about it. I always forget how nice it is to write posts like these. It makes me realize all the good that's happening in my life at the moment. How was your July? What were you grateful for recently? Let me know in the comments down below! Thank you so much for reading. Sending you love, strength, and positivity xxx

I sway towards being an introvert as well, so I've enjoyed the time at home. But I didn't realise either how much I go out and socialise. Even the small things like meeting for coffee at lunch. I love the idea of a book club. That makes you accountable - you can't put off reading if you've committed to it with friends. xx
